The Orchestra League hosts the annual “Color of Music” art contest in which students listen to a selection played and recorded by the Jackson Symphony Orchestra and then design two-demensional pieces of art to “interpret” the music.

K-6 students began work on their “Color of Music” projects one month ago, using Moldau by Bedrich Smetana. Three projects from each grade were selected to continue to the final phase of competition. The winning projects will be announced at the beginning of March and displayed at the Civic Center April 6-7.
