The Orchestra League hosts the annual “Color of Music” art contest in which students listen to a selection played and recorded by the Jackson Symphony Orchestra and then design two-demensional pieces of art to “interpret” the music.

This year, students in elementary art classes, taught by Ms. Sandy Smith, worked on their own projects with the theme “Don’t Stop Believing.” The pictures below showcase the three winning art pieces from each class that will go on to compete with other schools throughout West Tennessee. Judges for the contest will make their final decisions on February 15th and notify the winners on March 2nd. The children’s artwork will be displayed at the Civic Center April 5th-7th.
